Degree Audit Report

As a degree-seeking student at Texas State, you are responsible for knowing the requirements of your degree program and making sure that you are taking the courses your program requires for graduation. Your degree audit report can help you track your progress towards meeting degree requirements.

Step-by-Step Instructions for Generating a Degree Audit Report

Follow these instructions:
  1. Go to the Texas State homepage and click on CatsWeb.
  2. Select the Student Services Menu.
  3. Select Generate Degree Audit Report under Academic Records.
  4. Generate the report following the steps for admitted or not-admitted students:
        For all students currently admitted to the McCoy College:
  • Verify that your major and catalog year are correct.
  • Scroll down and click on Submit.
  • Your request will show pending until the audit is complete. The generation process should take 10 to 60 seconds. Click the pending link until a button appears with the date and time the audit was processed.
  • Click the circular button to open your audit. See the important notes at the bottom of this page for more information*
        For all students NOT currently admitted to the McCoy College (What-if):
  • Scroll down to the What-if section.
  • Enter the desired major code and your catalog year into the appropriate boxes and click submit.
                Major codes
    • Accounting – 511.00
    • CIS – 521.00
    • Economics BBA – 514.20
    • Economics BA - 514.10
    • Finance – 515.00
    • Management – 517.00
    • Management with Concentration In Entrepreneurial Studies – 517.10
    • Management with Teacher Certification – 517.17
    • Marketing – 518.00
  • Your request will show "pending" until the audit is complete. The generation process should take 10 to 60 seconds. Click the pending link until a button appears with the date and time the audit was processed.
  • Click the circular button to open your audit.* Please contact your advisor at the University College Advising Center with any questions about completing core curriculum and other courses you are eligible for prior to admission. 

*Important Notes


Double majors and dual degrees must see your academic advisor for complete requirements.

Remember that this report is for the time that you generated it. You should print your degree audit once a semester and put it in a safe place.


If you notice any inaccuracies in your report, please see your academic advisor. Some courses that are not automatically picked up by the audit system may meet requirements.  This is particularly important for transfer students that have had additional evaluation completed to satisfy program requirements.
